Fairfax, CA 94930
CareMeridian’s rehabilitation care facility in Marin County features an industry leading 1:4 staff-to-patient ratio. We offer 1:1 therapy and individualized care plans to support patients in need of a spinal cord injury rehabilitation program as well as those with brain and other traumatic injuries or medically complex illnesses.
Our team offers a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary treatment options, and is made up of nursing staff; physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists; social workers; activities directors; dieticians and expert consulting physicians. We offer ventilator nursing care for those unable to breathe on their own. Additional equipment at our rehabilitation care facility includes a gait trainer to ease patients back into walking, as well as a DynaVox assisted speaking device.
Residents at our Marin facility participate in a wide variety of activities such as crafts, cooking and baking. We also take advantage of our location in beautiful Marin County to take field trips to downtown Fairfax, the local farmers market and to the annual Marin County Fair. Our close proximity to San Francisco allows us to take trips into the city as well for visits to Pier 39, Aquarium of the Bay, the Ferry Building, and Giants baseball games.
These activities are a critical component of our spinal cord injury rehabilitation program and other programs. We believe in fun, comfortable, home-like healing environments.
Grounds and Location
This facility’s close proximity to the Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery allows us to partner with the non-profit’s program to support TBI patients and their families.
On site, this facility offers a wraparound deck with beautiful scenic views and calming sounds from our neighboring creek. This space provides a healing environment where residents can take in the natural surroundings.
Lodging and Transportation
Lodging is available at the Fairfax Inn nearby, as well as at numerous hotels in San Rafael (ten minutes away). A bus stops right in front of the facility and many more transportation options are available from the transfer station in San Rafael.
